OVERVIEW
TONIKK is a trichology-led haircare brand focused on creating healthier scalps as the foundation for healthier hair. Founded by Melbourne-based trichologist and hairdresser Kim Michalochristas, the brand was born from both professional expertise and personal experience, after years of searching for effective scalp solutions that prioritised both performance and ingredient integrity.
In the process of starting her business, Kim approached us to create a complete brand foundation that could confidently position the business within the premium haircare space. While the founder brought decades of industry knowledge and a clear product vision, she needed a strategic brand identity, tone of voice and digital experience that would communicate the science behind the products in a way that felt premium, yet approachable.
We translated TONIKK's trichology-led approach into a distinctive brand identity that balanced scientific expertise with warmth, ritual and modern simplicity. A refreshing tonic green was introduced as a distinctive brand cue, symbolising vitality, renewal and active ingredients, while a custom modular design system referenced the science and botanical structures behind the formulations.
The result is a premium haircare brand that feels both intelligent and inviting, and has transformed everyday haircare into something that is grounded in care, expertise and results.
